Exciting News! New Clinical Trial Approval Granted

Sep 30, 2025

I am delighted to announce the approval of my new clinical research study, ‘What Good Can One Session Do? An Exploratory Mixed-Method Study of Family Systemic Constellation Therapy in Individual Sessions in Adult Clients Presenting with Symptoms of Generalised Stress/Anxiety/Depression and Relational Issues.’

The study has now been formally registered with the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry (ACTRN12625000718448).

This project grew from a simple but profound question: Can a single session of Family Constellation Therapy (FCT) create meaningful and measurable shifts in a individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression or relational difficulties? For many, therapy is imagined as a long-term journey stretching across months or years. Yet, in Family Constellation Therapy, even one session has been reported to generate deep insight, clarity, and relief.

This study will investigate how a single Family Constellation Therapy session in a clinical setting impacts stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, and overall emotional wellbeing, if at all. Participants will complete pre- and post-session psychometric assessments and participate in reflective interviews, providing insight into the immediate and longer-term effects of this systemic therapeutic approach.

Although Family Constellation Therapy has been practiced worldwide for more than three decades, it remains significantly under-researched. The majority of existing studies have been conducted with European participants, with only a handful of systematic investigations published globally. This trial is the first of its kind to examine the impact of a single session of Family Constellation Therapy. The mixed-method design aims to add rigorous evidence to a field widely experienced as profoundly healing, yet still scientifically under-examined.

I feel both humbled and inspired to contribute to the broader academic conversation about how we heal, and how systemic approaches may offer powerful pathways as a complement to traditional modalities.

My heartfelt thanks to my family, friends, and colleagues who have supported me on this path.

Stay tuned for updates as this project unfolds.
